Nothing says happy Valentine’s Day like food bitten and chewed up by your loved one and then cooked to your satisfaction.

Remember that weird Cooking With Your Mouth video from Christmas?

Well, Riva Godfrey is back and gracing our screens once again with the food trend we never asked for. Not even a little bit.

She’s using her talented mouth to make beetroot pancakes, topped with fruit and honey, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Creator Nathan Ceddia is embracing the reception of the performance art videos which people have said is ‘bizarre to the point of bonkers’.

Not one to let a bit of casual criticism get in the way, Nathan has teamed up with Creative Director Iska Lupton to create a thoroughly repulsive and therefore instantly compelling video.

The YouTube series began during the festive season as Riva cooked a bit of Christmas turkey with her mouth…and then steak tartare a few weeks later.

Basically, if you ever want to venture out from the boring and traditional concept of cooking with utensils, Riva is your woman.

Nathan tells Metro.co.uk about the method behind the madness: ‘The kitchen is meant to be a safe environment for the people to freely express themselves. But anxieties around the dangers of sharp knives, blenders, mandolins and whisks can suppress ones creative culinary potential.

‘So we’ve created mouth cooking to combat risks and reintroduce fun. In the loved-up dizziness of Valentine’s, people are even more prone to accidents, so this is the only recipe to be making this Valentines Day.’

In this gem of a tutorial, Riva tells us she uses 33 of her fine teeth to pulp the beetroot into a paste. Apparently beetroot is also the new beef.

She then takes flour, milk, baking powder and ‘blenders’ it in the warm confines of her mouth, before spitting it all out in the beetroot bowl.

The most innovative and captivating moment comes when Riva teaches us the ‘egg blow job’ (Nathan’s words) whereby she bites off either end of the eggshell and like a reverse vacuum blows out the contents into the bowl.

‘Be careful not to chip a tooth because it could really ruin your mix’ she wisely tells us.

Much better than the previous technique of fermenting the egg in the mouth and spitting it out. Much better.

With the internet’s obsession with weird and wonderful, Nathan’s series takes the cake. That might just even be the idea for the next show.

The only way is up, says Nathan. ‘Cooking with your Mouth asks people to reconsider their relationship with food. There are plans to release more episodes and further series showcasing brand new, innovative food techniques’.

And because we want you to enjoy the quality content that is watching people cut, dice, chew ingredients with the mouth, here’s the previous video of Cooking With Your Mouth.

If you don’t have time, we’ve included a little preview. Happy cooking!
