The Cheshire Cheese Company, the cheese-makers behind the gin flavoured cheese, has launched some Strawberries, Cream and Champagne cheese just in time for Valentine’s Day.
And of course, it’s pink and comes in the shape of a heart.
According to the company, the cheese was inspired by tales of Cheshire Cheese and Strawberry Jam sandwiches, which were ‘a very popular children’s lunchtime treat pre-1960’.
The product description reads: ‘Think Strawberry Cheesecake and you are in the zone to enjoy this amazing special edition cheese. You can smell and taste the strawberry jam in the cheese and the subtle champagne note.
‘Try it with Oatcake biscuits and a fresh strawberry slice it’s very moorish! This is a very creamy, soft textured mouth feel and sweet cheese.’
While it sounds great – even if a little bizarre, the cheese isn’t actually new. It was first released back in 2011 where it one the World Cheese Awards bronze medal.
But it’s back just in time for the romance-filled day.
Though according to The Cheshire Cheese Company, it’s perfect for more than just 14 February.
The company states: ‘The ideal gift for Valentines, Mothers Day or a Birthday or simply to say you love someone! Vegetarian Society Approved.’
If strawberry champagne cheese is for you, it’s currently being sold for £4.75 for a whole heart-shape wedge.
Pair it with some biscuits, strawberries and prosecco and you’ve got yourself the perfect Valentine’s date night in.
