Arsene Wenger has used Barcelonas shock Champions League exit at the hands of Roma as a warning for his Arsenal players ahead of their Europa League clash with CSKA Moscow.

Barca saw their 4-1 lead from the first leg at Camp Nou wiped out on Tuesday evening as Roma sealed a 3-0 victory to progress to the Champions League semi-finals.

Arsenal also registered a 4-1 win over CSKA in the first leg of their Europa League quarter last week, and Wenger has warned his players to not replicate Barcelonas mistakes.

I watched the other game [Manchester City vs Liverpool], so only watched the last part of it, said Wenger.

“It was a typical game where they wanted to protect their advantage.

They conceded early and it can happen, thats why we love football. Its not predictable.

Thats why it is important we have a positive start as a team.

The Europa League is important to us, everyone knows that. It is one of the big targets of the season now.

I dont think we are under threat of complacency.

We have a big job to do, but we are in a strong position. How we approach the game will be vital.
