Sterling and City were beaten 4-3 in the game and Oxlade-Chamberlain opened the scoring for Liverpool with a superb effort in the ninth minute.
Liverpool went on to narrowly edge the match after a late City comeback.
Oxlade-Chamberlain enjoyed one of the best games of his short Liverpool career, while Sterling once again experienced disappointed on his return to his old stomping ground.
Sterling is universally hated among Liverpool fans after switching Anfield for City and Oxlade-Chamberlain revealed how he looked to meet his England team-mates eye after putting the Reds in front.
He told Colossal TV: On the way back? Course I did. Had to let him know Id arrived. I was in the game, had to let him know I was in the game.
It was a big goal and we wanted to go out there, them boys were flying, have a good result and beat them. That set us going.
I cant really remember what I was thinking. I was just buzzing.
But on the way back I was definitely thinking, “Wheres Raz?” Clocked eyes and there wasnt really much love coming back.

A laughing Sterling put his head in his hands as Oxlade-Chamberlain recounted the exchange during the interview.
Sterling said: I went to bed fuming, because I could see his little face grinning when he came back. Hes my boy and everything, but I was raging.
