Steven Gerrard hailed Mohamed Salah as the best player in the world in the aftermath of Liverpools 5-2 defeat of Roma.
Salah scored a double and set up goals from Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino as the Reds stormed to a five-goal lead in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final before he was replaced in the 75th minute.
Edin Dzeko and Diego Perotti got on the scoresheet following Salahs substitution to reduce the deficit but Liverpool remain clear favourites to progress through to the final in Kiev.
While Gerrard must have been gutted not to have been on the pitch on Tuesday night, he appeared to be enjoying his view from the BT Sport studio at Anfield.
His face shortly after Salahs magnificent second goal against Roma summed up how all Liverpool fans were feeling at the time. Pure joy.
Player, coach, pundit.
But most of all Steven Gerrard is a die-hard Liverpool fan

Gerrard claimed that Salah has overtaken Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the best player on the planet following Liverpools win.
Hes in the form of his life, former Liverpool captain Gerrard said.
Its difficult to compare him to your Ronaldos and Messis because theyve done it for so long and theyve been consistent year in, year out.
But, without a shadow of a doubt, hes the best player on the planet right now.
