Liverpool supporters were stunned as Mohamed Salah came away with the Puskas prize at the Best FIFA Football Awards 2018.
Salah was forced off in the 30th minute in Kiev after being hauled to the ground by Sergio Ramos which saw him miss the start of the World Cup. But at least the Egyptian phenomenon had something to smile about on Monday night.
The forwards wonder goal for Liverpool against arch-rivals Everton was considered the best of the last 12 months.
Good evening everyone. Nothing much to say about that but Im very happy and very proud, Salah said after winning the Puskas award.
I have to thank everyone who voted for me. Looking forward for another award tonight!

Don't get me wrong, I'm delighted that Salah has won for his goal against the Ev. But surely the 1st goal against Roma is twice the goal?! #LFC

Salah is also in a three-way battle with Luka Modric and Cristiano Ronaldo to win the Best FIFA Mens Player award.
Chelsea forward Eden Hazard revealed that he was hoping for his good pal Salah to triumph.
I voted for Luka Modric, but Mo Salah is my friend so I would like him to win, the Belgian admitted on the red carpet.
