Chelsea target Roberto Pereyra as potential replacement for Eden Hazard

Chelsea are considering Watford midfielder Roberto Pereyra as a potential replacement for Eden Hazard, according to reports.

Hazard is yet to sign a new contract with Chelsea and the Belgium international will have just a year remaining on his deal at the end of the season.

Real Madrid have been one of Hazards long-term admirers and the 27-year-old has openly admitted he would welcome the chance to sign for the Champions League holders.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are planning in the event of Hazards departure and according to the Sunday Mirror, Pereyra is on their shortlist of candidates to replace the Belgian.

The Argentina international has been in fine form for Watford this season with five goals in 11 Premier League games.

Pereyra is in his third season in England after he was signed in a £13 million deal from Juventus in 2016.
