Jailed Team USA pervert doctor Larry Nassar will have to ‘watch his back’ in prison to avoid being murdered, experts have warned.
Edward Bales, boss of Federal Prison Consultants says some inmates will have seen Nassar on TV and may take it upon themselves to avenge his vile crimes.
Nassar is likely to serve his 300 year sentence in a medium to high security prison, and will likely be put in a single cell for his own safety.
But fellow expert Christopher Zoukis said Nassar’s notoriety means he will not be able to conceal his crime, and is at risk of being
According to the Detroit Free Press, Zoukis said: ‘Sex offenders who can’t pass themselves off as something else will typically find themselves in an undesirable position.
‘At best, they’ll be avoided, and perhaps openly and directly called names and excluded from activities.
‘At worse, they’ll be robbed, beaten or even killed.
‘Many will find that they aren’t welcome to sit at certain tables in the chow hall, or might have to spend years in protective custody.’
And Maia Christopher, director of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers in Oregon said it was wrong to joke about sex offenders like Nassar getting a taste of their own medicine inside.
She said: ‘You’re saying there is a group of people who deserve to be sexually abused.
‘If we’re going to stop sexual assault, it has to include everybody — not just the people we like.’
Nassar was handed a 40 to 125 year prison sentence at Eaton County Circuit Court in Michigan Monday after being convicted of sickening sex attacks.
It came weeks after he was handed a further 40 to 175 year sentence for sexually abusing up to 265 girls, many underage, while doctor at Michigan State University.
