A 13 year-old boy who shot himself dead in a high school bathroom wanted to pull off the biggest massacre ever, police say.
Keith Simons wrote up an ‘eight step plan’ to achieve the horrific goal at Jackson Memorial Middle School in Ohio, writing on February 19: ‘(T)his will be bigger than anything this country’s ever seen.
‘I’ve been planning this for a few weeks and thought about it a few months, I will never be forgotten I’ll be a stain in American history and the Simons history, it’s going to be so mutch [sic].
They won’t expect a thing.’
The chilling phone memo was shared by Jackson Township Police Chief Mark Brink Thursday, who told of Simons’ ‘fascination with school shooters, specifically the Columbine shooters.’
It also revealed Keith’s plan to be shot dead or kill himself after.
He added: ‘Why he went back into the bathroom after he came out holding the gun and then committed suicide?
‘We don’t have an answer.’
Simons road the bus to school on February 20 with a .22-caliber gun hidden under his shirt.
He walked in and out of the bathroom, where a fellow student saw the weapon and called officials, said FOX 8.
By the time they had returned Simons had shot himself, just six days after Nikolas Cruz, 19, blasted 17 people to death at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fl.
He died in hospital the next day.
Cops have not said why he chose to end his own life, rather than embark on a killing spree.
Yesterday an obituary for Keith on a local funeral home website had been taken down.
But loved ones paid tribute on Facebook, with Tabby Kirkbride writing: ‘Rest in peace baby. Loved very much.’
Ally Yarnell added: ‘I love you so much Keith.
‘We all love you so much.
‘The family will always stand by you because we all new how amazing you are in your own little ways.’
