Chelsea have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Juventus Gonzalo Higuain as AC Milan struggle to conclude personal terms with the Argentine striker, reports in Italy claim.
The Blues looked to have been beaten to the former Real Madrid and Napoli forward by the Serie A giants, who had agreed a deal in principle to take him on loan to the San Siro.
However, Higuain is unhappy with terms offered by Milan which has delayed the move, according to Di Marzio.
Cristiano Ronaldos arrival at Juventus has made Higuain a near certainty to leave but he is unhappy to accept the same wage packet he was getting with the Italian champions.
He feels he should get a pay rise for moving to a club that cant offer Champions League football.
Milan are working on a deal that would see him complete a full transfer after the initial loan move, but Higuain is not particularly keen on that arrangement.
The Rossoneri also want him to sign a longer deal than he was willing to sign, and talks between the parties have been put on ice for the time being.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is desperate to add a new front man to his squad and may look to revive a deal for Higuain if Milan cant convince him to sign.
