Romelu Lukaku reduced the deficit with a header but Brighton restored their two-goal cushion before half-time as Pascal Gross scored from the spot after being taken out by Bailly inside the area.

Theres five centre backs at the club. Is there a pair among them who you would trust to take you to a title? Thats the question Jose [Mourinho] needs to answer, Neville told Sky Sports.

Every single United defender… theyre rash, they make tackles they dont have to.

Its really poor from Bailly, its so poor. Jose will hate what hes seeing. All of them [the defenders] dive in, every single one of them. He will be absolutely fuming.

You have to hang in there when yourre not playing well. The mistakes at the back. Theres no need to tackle, youve got to keep your composure.

Hes complaining, winging, moping around.

Graeme Souness added: His head is gone. Murray has got to much presence for him. Bailly doesnt know where he is today.
