Alexis Sanchez could be sold by Manchester United in January unless he rediscovers his form, according to Ian Wright.

The Chile international swapped the Emirates for Old Trafford earlier this year in a deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan move in the opposite direction.

After establishing himself as one of the best forwards in the Premier League during three-and-a-half years at Arsenal, Sanchez has been a huge disappointment since he joined United.

The 29-year-old has scored just three goals in 23 appearances, none this season, and was hauled off at the weekend during the 1-1 draw with newly promoted Wolves.

He does not warrant a place in the team when you have Martial and Marcus Rashford waiting to play, said Wright.

You look at him at United: hes not shackled, hes got freedom. His form will have to kick in to justify a place.

If I was a businessman, Id see how it goes for the rest of the season then look to offload. Its because of the wages hes on.

For me, right now, if United had paid money for him theyd be thinking: How are we going to get that back?

Sanchez will have to take a hit on his weekly wage [if he joins another club]. Nobody will pay a fee for him, because of the way hes playing.
