Manchester United captain Antonio Valencia has played down rumours of a fresh falling out between himself and Jose Mourinho and says the squad still back their manager.

Mourinho has endured a difficult week, failing to win at home for the fourth match in a row, losing away to West Ham and getting knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the hands of Championship side Derby County.

In the build-up to Tuesdays goalless Champions league draw against Valencia, it was claimed Uniteds Ecuadorian right-back was no longer on speaking terms with Mourinho after he was criticised for not attending the Derby match.

Although the majority of Uniteds players snubbed the mixed zone on Tuesday night, Valencia gave a brief interview to play down any suggestions of dressing-room unrest.

Asked if he is fully behind Mourinho, he replied: 100%. He is our boss, we have to be with him and we are fighting.

Probed further on his rumoured falling out with the Portuguese coach, Valencia continued: No, I have never had any problem with anyone, thank God.

The decision [about Pogba losing the captaincy] is for the coach to make, now we need to see the positives.

We played an important game and got a point, now we have a game against Newcastle and we need to fight.

What I can say from the inside is that the lads are calm, working every day with a good attitude. We havent got good results and thats why rumours arise.
