Boca Juniors are bracing themselves for a bid from Arsenal for winger Cristian Pavon, reports say.
Arsenal are on the hunt for a new forward this January and have opened talks with Boca about the Argentine.
Pavon saw his season derailed by injury, but Unai Emery is a massive fan of the 22-year-old and wants to bring him to England.
The Sun claim Boca are expecting an offer from Arsenal as the South American club hold out for £40million.
Pavons agents are already in touch with several clubs and it is believed the player likes the idea of a switch to London.
Fulhams approach for Pavon seems destined to fail as the Cottagers cannot match Bocas asking price.
But Boca do believe Arsenals first bid could come close to their £40m valuation.
Arsenal need extra firepower up front after Danny Welbeck was ruled out for the rest of the season due to injury.
Emery will also need a replacement for midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who is poised to leave the club either in January or next summer when his contract expires.
Pavon can play as a central forward or on either side of the attack, and has already racked up eleven appearances for Argentina.
