Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on Liverpool youngster Ki-Jana Hoever, calling the defender incredible and saying it is a joy to watch his progress.

Hoever, 16, is in contention to feature in Liverpools matchday squad for the FA Cup third round clash with Wolves on Monday.

The teenager, who can play at right-back or at centre-back, joined the Reds in September from Ajax and has already made a significant impression on Klopp.

Liverpool have had a difficult time with injuries to defenders and Klopp has suggested Hoever is in his thoughts ahead of the trip to Molineux.

He is one for the future of course, but what we will do with him now I dont know, Klopp said in his pre-match press conference.

He is 16, turns 17 in a few days. If Joel and Joe would have been fit all of the time, then probably Ki-Jana wouldnt have been in training with the first team, but he was in and is still in.

It is just a joy to watch him. He is an incredible, confident young fella and is really a good player on top of that. Its nice we can see him day in, day out. Its really cool.

He is for sure for the future, but when the future starts I dont know. But he is in and he learns a lot and improves a lot, it will happen automatically.

Its a nice prospect for the next months and years. Wolves? I dont know, we will see.

Klopp, who has taken Liverpool to the top of the Premier League this season, confirmed Simon Mignolet would start in goal for the Reds.

And the German boss admitted Mignolet would be just one of a number of changes to his team against Wolves.

We have to, thats clear, we came through an intense period somehow okay, Klopp added.

How many changes, I dont know. But we have to. Theres no chance of anything else.
