A school bus driver has been condemned after she was filmed driving through deep flood waters with children on board.
Horrified eyewitness Trista Ross filmed the driver plow through the deluge-hit road close to her home in Monmouth, Illinois, on Wednesday.
The water was so deep it came up over the hood of the large vehicle, and was almost level with the windows.
Ross told WQAD: I was like, Oh my god, its going! Its going through!
All the other cars and semis were turning around.
The school bus driver was going through it. I just couldnt believe it.
She added: Stupid. I dont even care if you did or didnt have kids. Its stupid to go through it at all.
First of all, its not your bus. And second, its just a dumb decision.
Rosss video was later passed to Monmouth-Roseville School District Superintendent Ed Fletcher, who was equally shocked by the drivers recklessness.
He said: I was pretty upset when I saw that video, and I found out it was our bus and there were kids on it.
