Manchester United chiefs are preparing to test West Hams resolve as they look to lure Issa Diop to Old Trafford, reports claim.

The Red Devils are determined to add centre-backs to Ole Gunnar Solskjaers squad this summer, with Harry Maguire thought to be at the top of their wishlist.

However, both Maguire and Napoli central defender Kalidou Koulibaly are pricey options, costing £80million and £100m respectively.

Diop, who impressed in his first Premier League season under Manuel Pellegrini in 2018/19, has emerged as a potential aternative, thought to cost a fraction of the price.

The Hammers splashed £22m on the Frenchman to bring him to the London Stadium from Toulouse and can expect to at least double that figure should they choose to sell him on.
