A daycare was arrested after she deliberately dropped an 11-month-old boy on his head, police say.
Bethan Pringle, 23, was charged with felony child abuse for allegedly dropping the boy on purpose, causing him to suffer head trauma.
The incident happened while Pringle was at work at a Childcare Network Daycare center in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina on June 10, police said.
On Facebook, the Onslow County Sheriffs Office wrote: The childs injuries were from head trauma which resulted when the child was intentionally dropped by the suspect.
The Jacksonville Daily News reported that the boy was rushed to the Vidant Medical Center and was released three days later.
Doctors said that the boy is expected to make a full recovery, however Sheriff Hans Miller said it may take a long time to determine whether the child will suffer lasting impacts.
The Childcare Network released a statement saying: We are heartbroken about this incident and our thoughts and prayers are with the child and his family.
