Manchester United are not prepared to meet Sporting Lisbons £70m asking price for midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
The Portugal international is expected to leave Sporting this summer after a sensational campaign last season where he scored 31 goals from midfield.
The 24-year-olds agent has reportedly met with Tottenham and United officials in the last fortnight over a move to the Premier League but the Red Devils want to focus on the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka before concentrating on a midfielder.
However, the Telegraph claims Solskjaer wants the midfielder to be signed at the earliest opportunity but United will not meet Sportings valuation of the Portugal star.
United are said to consider that valuation to be outlandish and hope to sign the midfielder for a far lower fee.
Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera have departed since Solskjaers appointment and the Norwegian is considering more reinforcements on top of a move for Fernandes.
