Sobbing boy begs dad not to call police on black man for standing in their lobby
Upsetting video footage shows the moment a sobbing child begged his father not to call the police on a black man waiting in their lobby.
The child can be heard shouting: Daddy dont, dont, dont, after his father tried to stop software engineer Wesly Michel, 35, coming into their apartment building as they walked out.
Michel was there to visit a friend.
The youngster became fearful after Michel began filming the July 4 encounter at the building in San Francisco, and said Youre going to be the next person on TV.
That is a reference to other recent incidents where black people have faced harassment at the hands of white people while going about their day-to-day business.
Michels warning was ignored by the dad, who called police, prompting Michel to begin filming.
That made the mans young son become inconsolable and tearful.
