Khabib Nurmagomedovs dad accuses Nate Diaz of trying to skip the line to UFC title shot
Khabib Nurmagomedovs father has accused Nate Diaz of trying to engineer a fight with his son without deserving one, after their clash at UFC 239 on Saturday.
A confrontation between the UFC lightweight champion and welterweight contender was filmed in Las Vegas at the weekend, as the pair appeared to exchange unpleasantries.
Security stepped in to separate the fighters before anything physical occurred, but UFC president Dana White confirmed that this was very much needed.
They were within two rows of each other, said White. They started to get into a fight and we broke it up, and got it handled.
Im sure a lot of bad things were said. I dont know exactly, but Im sure it was not good.
Khabibs father, Abdulmanap, believes he knows exactly what Diazs motivation for the spat was – to secure a fight with the Eagle, without having to pick up the necessary wins inside the octagon.

This guy is trying to get what he deserves without standing in line, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov wrote on Instagram, via RT.
How many [times] we asked him and [Anthony] Pettis for the fight, it was difficult to reach agreement with them, but the UFC can give that chance to this guy.
A fight between Khabib and Diaz is not going to happen any time soon with the former booked to fight Dustin Poirier in September and Diaz scheduled to face Pettis in at UFC 241 in August.
Even if both win those contests, Diaz is campaigning at welterweight these days, and Khabib will almost certainly face Tony Ferguson in his next fight.
