A five-year-old boy who was thrown from the third floor of one of Americas biggest malls has finally recovered enough to return home.

Landen Hoffmans family said that the boy has completed rehabilitation and has returned home after months of recovery.

The family wrote on their GoFundMe page that Landen is entering the next phase of recovery, which includes continued outpatient rehabilitation for multiple injuries and adjusting to life back hom and school.

They continued: Thank you to all of you who prayed for us and loved us during the last 4 ½ months.

Landen suffered devastating injuries after Emmanuel Aranda, 24, threw him approximately 40 feet onto a marble floor at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, on April 12.

Aranda, who was sentenced to 19 years in jail in July, told police that he had been looking for someone to kill after he had been rejected numerous times by women at the mall.

In the wake of the attack, Landen needed more than 15 medical procedures including surgeries for two broken arms and a broken leg, removal of his spleen, procedures for fluid in his lungs and stomach, as well as for facial and skull fractures, according to his family.
