Paul Merson believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should resist the temptation to throw young forward Mason Greenwood into the Manchester United starting line-up and fears that his development could be damaged by the clubs poor form.
Solskjaers forward options are severely limited following the injury suffered by Marcus Rashford in the 2-0 defeat to West Ham this weekend, with Anthony Martial still pushing to be fit for next Mondays Premier League clash with Arsenal.
Greenwood, who scored the winner against Astana in the Europa League last week, may well get the nod against the Gunners – and against Rochdale in the League Cup in midweek – but former Arsenal midfielder Merson thinks it would be a mistake to put him in the fray.
