nationaljeweler– American fashion designer Halston was a phenom of 1970s fashion, known for his stylish minimalist designs.
His legacy lives on via his ready-to-wear fashion label, and now, a fine jewelry collection with Aurate, a direct-to-consumer jewelry brand.
The “Aurate x Halston: The Muse Collection” is Halston’s first fine jewelry collaboration.
During his decades-long career, Halston looked to muses like actress Liza Minelli, model Pat Cleveland, and Tiffany & Co. jewelry designer Elsa Peretti.
Netflix’s five-part series “Becoming Halston” tells the story of the designer’s life, including his friendship with Peretti.
The jewelry collection channels those women and hints at the bold styles that once graced the halls of the iconic Studio 54.
Last summer, Aurate said it began to dig through the Halston archive, looking to mesh his disco era glamour with modern-day looks.
The co-designed collection is characterized by “elements of fluidity and motion with bold, organic shapes,” said a spokesperson.
It includes 12 pieces, from hoops and a collar necklace to statement cuffs and rings, all in 14-karat recycled gold vermeil.
The pieces, available in yellow, white, or rose gold, range in price from $160 to $1,500.
The collection, set to launch Tuesday, will be available on Aurate and Halston’s website and Aurate’s new Madison Avenue store in New York City.
Previously, Aurate partnered with actress Kerry Washington on a jewelry collection.
